Juventus have brought their unbeaten run to 48 games in the Serie A after a controversial 0-1 win at Catania on Sunday. So controversial, in fact, that the bookmaker Paddy Power has decided to return any money wagered on a Catania victory.
"Sometimes the result of a match is so unfair that it is right to pay up, a Justice Payout" said a spokesman for the Irish bookies.
Catania thought they had taken a first half lead but the goal from Gonzalo Bergessio was disallowed after nearly a minute of consultation between the officials. The reason was not immediately clear whether it was offside or a foul.
In the wake of that decision, the technical director, Antonino Pulvirenti, was dismissed and in the next five minutes an additional five players were booked. To make matters even worse, Arturo Vidal scored for Juventus to make it 0-1 after the Dane, Bendtner had the ball played to him in an offside position.
