The Greek Super league has again only sixteen clubs this year. Because of their share in the bribery scandal, Olympiakos Volos and Kavala were kicked out of the Super league this season.
On Sunday, the Greek Football Federation decided that the second division teams Doxa Drama and Levadiakos Livadias would take their places.
Due to the relegation of Kavala and Volos, there were to be two match cancellations each week, which made the fixture list particularly cluttered. That problem has now been resolved, Doxa and Levadiakos are required to play a lot of 'catch-up matches'.
The Greek federation also demoted Asteras Tripolis because of its involvement in the bribery scandal, but the team successfully appealed and will therefore remain in the highest league.
