Alderney-licensed online poker room and sportsbook EuroSportBet.co.uk has announced a shirt sponsorship deal with second division French football club Nantes that is reportedly set to cost it $575,000 per season.
EuroSportBet.co.uk has offices in Paris and Alderney and stated that the agreement began on Monday in time for Nantes’ goalless draw away at Boulogne-Sur-Mer, which was broadcast live on the EuroSport satellite and cable television network.
The site’s logo will now appear on the team’s home and away tops while EuroSportBet.co.uk revealed that it will also have a "strong presence" on the club’s website. "EuroSportBet.co.uk is very pleased to partner with a team with one of the best track records in French football and a leader of a thrilling championship broadcast exclusively on EuroSport," said Olivier Ou Ramdane, Chief Executive Officer for EuroSportBet.co.uk.
Affectionately known as "The Canaries" due to its striped green and yellow shirts, Nantes is one of the most successful clubs in French soccer with eight Ligue 1 titles to its name with the last coming as recent as 2000. The club has also won the Coupe de France on three occasions alongside one Coupe de la Ligue and has produced national stars including Marcel Desailly, Didier Deschamps and Christian Karembeu.
