The British bookmakers Bet365 has signed a new sponsorship deal with English Premier League football club Stoke City.
The seven-digit agreement ensures that the Bet365 brand will be placed on both the home and away shirts for the next three years.
"We are excited to be Stoke City's shirt sponsors," said Denise Coates, Joint Chief Executive Officer for Bet365. "It's perfect advertising on the international markets to be a shirt sponsor of our local English Premier League club. This builds on previous sponsorship and advertising where we are already committed to many Premier League clubs and the sports industry in general. It also demonstrates again our long term commitment to this club."
"The club was affiliated with Bet365 and its owners, the Coates family," said Tony Scholes, Chief Executive Officer for Stoke City, which is also owned by the founder of Bet365, Peter Coates. "While the former sponsor focuses more on sponsoring local and national markets, Bet365 is active on a global basis.
"This agreement with Bet365 allows us to maximize the international character of the club. We received some offers from other sponsors, but Bet365 was the highest bidder and demonstrates an unprecedented commitment to the club."
